Daim "dime" Bar Advert "Armadillo"

The Daim "dime" Bar advert was made in the mid 1990's it's for a chocolate bar that has hard caramel in the middle and then smooth chocolate round it. The advert I think is mainly aimed at children from the age of around 7+
This advert also has a comedy side to it so it makes people remember it more. I also think that having someone in the advert such as Harry Enfield would make the audience more eager to watch it if they're a fan of him.

Playstation 3 "Baby" Advert

The advert for the PS3 is very strange, at first you see a long shot of a white room that has a baby doll and a Playstation in it. At the start the baby has closed eyes but then as the advert goes on, the baby doll opens his eyes and starts to act like a real life baby; making noises, crying. The Playstation starts to float up and it cuts to the baby's eyes and starts to cry and go a really dark, red colour and looks like almost robotic like. I would think that it appeals to probably mainly teenagers, boys mostly but obviously girls too. The age range, i would say around 16+

How to use Final Cut Pro

  • In the top left of the screen is the browser
  • In the middle of the screen there is the viewer
  • In the top right of the screen there is the canvas
Then, at the bottom left there is the sequence where all your selected clips will be shown to edit and merge together with other clips.
If you look across from the sequence bit you'll see the timeline, this is where the clips you select to edit and merge together to create a film will appear. If you wish to change the sequence/timeline settings then you just go to Settings > Sequence Settings > Timeline Options you will then see a box in front of you and then you should just enter the time you would like for example, you could change 01:00:00:00 to 02:33:55:09.
The fps (frames per second) maximum for Britain is 25.
The acronym for Phase Alternative Line is P.A.L

Introduction

I'm using this blog to record all my research and progress into Advertising.

I will be uploading videos, photos, existing adverts to analyse and my final piece will be the advert that i have constructed myself.
